Frequently Asked Questions
A student has up to 7 years to complete the program.
Delivery of Courses
The online courses try to replicate, as close as possible, the on-campus courses. To that end, each of the on-campus courses, which is part of our Online Program, is recorded before an on-campus class. These are made available to the online students either by streaming via the web or by downloading the video file. In addition, each course has a website containing a discussion board, the syllabus, the class notes, etc. Also, most online course will have a Q&A web conference session once a week. These session are recorded and made available. Thus, the online student will watch 3 lectures of 50 minutes each for a Monday/Wednesday/Friday course or 2 lectures of 75 minutes each for a Tuesday/Thursday course.
Online classes offered in the summer and a few of the online classes offered in the fall and spring will use recordings made in a previous semester.
Homework / Exams
You will be taking the same courses as the local students so you will be on the same schedule. Homework will be due at the same time as the local students. Exams procedures may vary as determined by instructors, and will be established in the course syllabus each semester. Examples may include, but are not limited to, scheduled exams which will be proctored via Zoom, timed exams to be completed within a limited window, or course projects in place of a formal exam.
Former Student Quote
Because of the education I received through the distance program, I was able to confidently breeze through a very technical interview and was immediately offered a position on the analytics team. Several years later, I am proud to still be a part of the same company, not as a new professional, but as a successful leader and mentor. I directly credit Texas A&M’s MS Statistics distance program in preparing me for this career path. It has changed my life.
